How to Setup Hisense Smart TV Remote App [Guide]

Do you have recently bought a Hisense Smart TV model with Android OS inside? If so, then this article is just for you.

I got mine a few months back, and I have been using it to its full potential pretty much every day. It has all the major functions of normal television with some extra features attached to it. However, today I am going to talk about only one feature – Hisense Remote App!

A couple of days ago I was watching TV in my room when suddenly someone rang at my doorbell. Because of being far from the door, I couldn’t hear ringing clearly (which happens very often).

So I was like, “What should I do now?! How can I put down TV channel?!” At that moment Hisense smart TV remote app popped up in my mind.

How to Setup Hisense Smart TV Remote App on Android

First of all, you need to download and install the app. You can find it by searching ‘Hisense smart TV remote’ on Google Play Store. Once installed, open the app and click on the ‘+’ button in the top-right corner.

From there, select your TV brand (in my case it was Hisense) and model. If you don’t see your TV brand or model in the list, don’t worry – you can still add it manually.

Now follow these simple steps:

1) Make sure that your phone and TV are both connected to the same network.

2) On your TV, go to the ‘Settings’ menu and select ‘Network’.

3) Select your network name and enter the password.

4) On your phone, open the Hisense smart TV remote app and go to the ‘Settings’ menu.

5) Under ‘TV brands’, select your TV brand (in my case it was Hisense).

6) Under ‘TV models’, select your TV model (in my case it was H6500).

7) If prompted, enter the network password.

8) Your phone will now start scanning for TVs on the network.

9) When your TV is found, select it and click on the ‘Connect’ button.

That’s it! You can now use the Hisense smart TV remote app to control your TV. The app has all the basic functions of a normal remote, such as changing channels, adjusting the volume, and so on.

But it also has some extra features, such as a keyboard for typing in text, a mouse for moving the cursor around the screen, and a touchpad for scrolling.

So if you ever find yourself in a situation where you can’t hear or see your TV remote, don’t worry – just open the Hisense smart TV remote app and control your TV that way!

What If My TV Brand Is Not Listed?

No worries – if your TV is Hisense, then try to select ‘Hisense’ under ‘TV brands’. If that doesn’t work, you will need to add your TV manually by scanning for it on the network. Click on the ‘(+) Add manual device’ button and follow these steps:

1) Make sure that both your phone and TV are connected to the same network.

2) Select ‘IP Scanner’.

3) Go back to Hisense smart TV remote app and select ‘/scan/manualscan’ from the dropdown menu under ‘For all devices’.

4) Now go back to IP Scanner and go to the ‘All Devices’ tab.

5) Your TV should appear in this list. If it doesn’t, or if you are not sure, then select all the devices that could be your TV one by one until you find it. Then click on the tick button at the top of the screen next to its name. Then choose your TV under ‘Discovery Method’.

6) Make sure your phone is selected under ‘Scanning Destination Device’.

7) Select ‘IP Scanner’ again from the dropdown menu under ‘For all devices’.

8) Now go back to IP Scanner and go to the ‘All Devices’ tab. You will see that your TV appears in the list – click on it to select it.

9) A ‘Connect’ button should now appear next to your TV’s name – click on it and you will be connected!

If this does not solve the problem, make sure that your phone and TV are both connected to the same network and that you have entered the correct password for your network in both places.

If it still doesn’t work, try restarting your TV or closing then reopening Hisense smart TV remote app. If that fails too, then there may be a problem with connectivity on your router/modem – contact whoever set up your network if possible!
