Plantronics CS530: Wireless Headset Review

I am writing this blog post to provide an unbiased review of the Plantronics CS530 wireless headset. If you are an avid reader of Sprintmind, you may recall the flurry of rumors about Google Voice integration with the Plantronics headsets.

As many readers know, I am an extremely satisfied Plantronics Voyager Pro user and have been for over two years now. But my curiosity has always urged me to find out what other wireless headsets are available on the market that might be better than the Voyager Pro.

So when I heard that Sprint was going to sell a new wireless headset from Plantronics called the CS530 which had supposedly superior sound quality over its predecessor, the Voyager 510, I decided to give it a try. If this review helps you in deciding whether or not to purchase this product, then by all means go ahead and buy one!

The Plantronics Voyager Pro has been criticized by some reviewers for having poor voice quality during calls, but I can honestly say that that is not an issue with the Plantronics CS530.

If you have read many Bluetooth headset reviews on Sprintmind then you probably know that most wireless headsets sound horrible when they are playing music or a movie in a noisy environment.

This is because it can be very difficult to separate noise cancellation technology from both ends of the conversation while trying to play background sounds in a movie, song, etc…

Plantronics CS530 Review

The Plantronics CS530 is a comfortable, lightweight, easy-to-use device that I love wearing all day long. It can be used with any cell phone or computer and has excellent voice quality.

The CS 530 features sound clarity for both incoming and outgoing calls as well as great battery life. If you are looking for a wireless headset that will help you improve your productivity while providing comfort then the Plantronics CS530 might be perfect for you!

I’ve been using the CS530 for quite some time now, and I can say that it is a quality product with good voice quality.

The noise cancellation technology works well on both ends of the phone call allowing you to have clear conversations with your friends or family members. This headset has helped me increase my productivity by allowing me to multitask while talking on the phone.

If you like listening to music at work or wherever else, Plantronics also has a CS Bluetooth Music accessory for this headset.

The CS Bluetooth Music accessory supports the AVRCP profile, which enables you to remotely control your music playback from your cell phone.

The Plantronics CS530 comes with a plethora of features to help you get the most from your wireless headset.

Enjoy excellent sound quality on both ends of the conversation thanks to proprietary wideband audio technology

Enjoy up to seven hours of talk time, or up to 12 days on standby with Plantronics lithium-ion battery

The CS530 features multipoint technology that enables the headset to be connected two Bluetooth-enabled devices at once. This feature will essentially allow you to answer calls from either your cell phone or computer without having to manually switch between the two. You can also quickly transfer a call between your computer and cell phone using the QuickSwitch button.

Plantronics CS530 Design: The Plantronics CS530 is made of very light materials which makes it easy for me to wear this headset for hours at a time without feeling uncomfortable.

The lightweight material does not interfere with wearing glasses. I have worn my Voyager Pro while riding motorcycles many times and have never had a problem with the weight of the headset.

The earpiece of the CS530 is also made from a very light plastic material and rests lightly on my ear.

Call Quality & Range: Some previous Voyager headsets have had issues with the voice quality when in a noisy environment, but this is not an issue with the Plantronics CS530.

The noise cancellation technology works very well and will allow you to hear even in the noisiest of environments. This headset also features wind reduction technology to help reduce or eliminate background noise in windy conditions.

The CS530 sounds just as good on my end as it does for those who I am speaking to through the device. When using this headset outside, I do find that it mutes itself if I move my head slightly forward or backward while having a conversation on my cell phone.

If you are looking for a wireless headset that does an excellent job at eliminating background noise then the Plantronics CS530 might be the one.

The CS530 is optimized for use with Microsoft Lync 2010 and Cisco Jabber™ soft clients

Noise-canceling microphone reduces background noise during calls

QuickPair technology allows you to pair quickly using NFC (Near Field Communication)

The CS530 is also comfortable to wear! It comes equipped with an optional ear hook so if you prefer your headset without the ear hook, then go ahead and use them just as they are!

If you do want to use the ear hook though, take note that it does feel pretty good once it’s in place.

My favorite feature of the Plantronics CS530 is that it’s very comfortable and lightweight! I have small ears so other headsets either fall out or won’t stay in place if I try to use them with the optional ear hook. But with this device,

I haven’t had any issues with falling out or having it not stay in place due to my small ears.

Final Verdict:
